Dr. Elvira's Story
Got married, again, in 2014 to the love of my life!
After graduation, I was able to travel abroad. I visited London, Paris, Rome, Copenhagen, and Munich. I have 5 grown fabulous children, all female, son-in laws a that are like sons to me, grandchildren and recently 5 great grandchildren. I have worked in many positions, but the greatest concentration was in advocacy. In the 1990s I was chosen "Outstanding Woman in Government" by Governor Carlson. I wrote a book about my life growing up in North Minneapolis and other events. It is called, "Dancing on Bla...Expand for more
ck Ice." A few years ago I completed my Master's Degree in Psychology. I began a Ph. D. program in Public Policy in January 2006, switched majors to Industrial and Organizational Psychology in 2007 and now I am close to completion of the latest choice in concentrations, Doctor of Education.deal on my job, as Associate State Director for Communi Volunteer Engagement and Diversity for the AARP's Minnesota State Office. This year I added another load on to my plate. In addition to my position at AARP, I teach Multicultural Psychology at a local university.
